The songs featured on this CD were recorded for MAGNET RECORDS and POLYDOR RECORDS respectively. STREETWALKING and SOMETHING'S MOVING were recorded at the Vineyard Studios London. The Vineyard later became PWL, home to all of the hits of Stock, Aitkin and Waterman. Both tracks were produced by Peter Collins who is now one of the world's leading redord producers, having hits with the likes of: Bon Jovi, Tom Jones, Elton John, and Leanne Rimes. The arranger was Graham Preskett who had previously arranged Baker Street for Gerry Rafferty. FAITHFUL TO THE FIANCE, YOU, GROWING UP, HOLDING ON, and FUNNY WAY were recorded at Marcus Music Kensington, London. All tracks were produced by Simon Humphrey and Steve Levine. Steve went on to become a world class record producer recording all the classic hits with Culture Club as well as hits with The Beach Boys, Deniece Williams and the Honeyz. More recently he produced the star studded charity hit for the Tsunami appeal. DESPERATE and IT'LL NEVER HAPPEN TO ME were recorded at Red Bus Studios, St Johns Wood, London. Produced by the now legendary Steve Levine, who had the studio block booked for a couple of years and produced most of his hit records there. The week we recorded these tracks, Steve was at number one with Karma Chameleon. Recording all of these tracks was a fantastic experience, I felt very privileged at such a tender age to work with some incredible musicians and producers from whome I learned a great deal. My relationship with Steve Levine lasts to this day. Steve recently introduced my sone Michael and me to one of our heros, the great musical genius Brian Wilson. I have recently been back in touch with Peter Collins who is now based in Nashville, USA. even living on a different continent didn't stop him from organising guest passes for me and a few friends to attend a recent conccert at the Wolverhampton Civic Hall given by one of his new productions Beth Neilson Chapman. My A&R man at Magnet for the STREETWALIKING sessions was Tilly Rutherford. His time at Magnet was spent working along side Pete Waterman another Magnet employee. After leaving Magnet Tilly rejoined Waterman at PWL. In charge of A&R for FAILTHFUL TO THE FIANCE sessions was David Novik, after leaving Magnet David joined Sony Records for whome he signed amongst others Paul Young. After he left Sony to join RCA Records USA, David was based in Manhatton becoming head of their International division. The last time I spoke to David was on my last visit to New York.
